Nasa spacewalk to replace solar batteries LIVE SUBSCRIBE: https://youtu.be/nE2uhv-ZCSw : NASA flight engineers Nick Hague and Anne McClain step out of the International Space Station to replace nickel-hydrogen batteries with more powerful lithium-ion ones as part of an upgrade to the station’s power system.
The batteries are located on the ISS’ solar array and once replaced should provide the station with a higher capacity for stored electricity.
The walk itself will last a marathon SEVEN hours with little but a space suit between the astronauts and the vacuum of space.
They will leave the station at 11:30 GMT am (7:30 am EDT).
Next week, Anna MClain will complete another spacewalk along with fellow female astronaut Christina Koch. The pair will make history on the first ever all-female space walk.
