The growing threat of macroplastics in our oceans SUBSCRIBE: https://youtu.be/nE2uhv-ZCSw : A study covering the last 60 years has found just how much plastic pollution has made its way into the oceans, and crucially, how it’s getting worse.
Since 1990 there has been a three-fold increase in macroplastics contaminating the oceans – that’s items like bags, ropes and fishing lines.
The researchers at Plymouth University say the solution is simple – if less plastic is used, less of it will end up in the ocean.

Sky’s Ocean Rescue campaign encourages people to reduce their single-use plastics. You can find out more about the campaign and how to get involved at http://www.skyoceanrescue.com.
